Contact a valuer

Tell us what the business does, why you need the valuation and when. A valuer will review it and, if we are the right fit, confirm the scope and a fixed fee in writing before anything starts.

Short answer

How do I start an industrial business valuation?

Call 0433 475 518 (Mon to Fri, 9am to 5:30pm AEST) or send an enquiry with the industry, the purpose, approximate turnover and your timing. A valuer reviews it, calls you to scope the work, then confirms the scope, fee, information required and expected turnaround in writing. Nothing needs to be sent until you have agreed to proceed.

Would you rather talk it through?

Call 0433 475 518, Mon to Fri, 9am to 5:30pm AEST. A short call is usually enough to confirm the purpose, the valuation date, the fee band and anything that adds to the scope, such as a second entity or a past valuation date.

What happens after you enquire?

  1. You receive an email confirming we have your enquiry, with a reference number.
  2. A valuer reviews it and contacts you, usually by phone, to understand the business and what the valuation is for.
  3. If appropriate, we confirm in writing the scope, the fee, the information required and the expected turnaround.
  4. Once you accept the engagement and pay, you upload documents through the private link on your matter, and the work begins.

Should I send documents with my enquiry?

No. Please do not attach or email financial statements or other documents. Documents come only through the private upload link on your matter, never by email and never through this website.

Your information stays confidential. If the matter is sensitive, such as a sale your staff do not yet know about or a disagreement between shareholders, we can sign a confidentiality undertaking before you share documents.

Are you an adviser, or is this a family law matter?

Accountants, lawyers and advisers referring a client can use our professional referrals page, so we can keep you informed with your client's consent.

Family law matters are prepared through our dedicated family law practice, Family Law Valuations. You can still enquire here and we will make sure it reaches the right team. Our family law business valuation page explains how an industrial business is approached in a property settlement.

Questions

Will you give me a value over the phone?

No. A value needs the numbers and a proper conversation about how the business runs. On the call we can talk through what usually drives value in businesses like yours, and in the meantime the value estimator shows which factors strengthen or weigh on value.

Can my accountant or lawyer contact you instead?

Yes. With your agreement, your adviser can refer the matter through our professional referrals page or by phone, and can stay involved throughout the engagement.

What should I have ready for the first call?

Nothing formal. It helps to know the purpose of the valuation, the date it is needed at, roughly what the business turns over, which entity owns the business and its equipment, and any deadline. Documents come later, through the private link on your matter.
